We freelance, we are nerds, we are geeks, we explore, we are on the fringes of corporations. We are The Misfits. I will certainly explore motivations and necessities that pushed independent consultants, freelancers, developers and other IT professionals to become a Misfit. Frustration; independence; the preference for working 80 hrs a week to avoid working 40 hrs a week ... for someone else; opportunity; better income; better working conditions; curiosity. The list goes on, and it is not different than most professionals who decide to open a business out of eBay or an eCommerce site to sell her invention or craft. Misfits?
